Planning Your Visit

Hadrians Wall Museum

If you plan to stay for a few days or even a week or two, then you will probably want to look a little further afield.

Stainton is located at the northern edge of Cumbria, making it ideal for access to the Lake District National Park, North Pennines, the Eden valley or the Scottish Borders.

The village is ideally situated for access to the major road network. However, if this is not your preferred means of travel, then there’s the West Coast Main Line Railway Station close by at Penrith.

There’s no shortage of places to visit and explore within a short distance like those listed on the right.
